DIGITAL PROMISE IS ON THE MOVE
January 2006: Advisory Council, made up of community members and stakeholders, is formed in order to provide strategic direction to the STAR Center.
November, 2005: Work begins on a new project funded by HUD at the STAR Center (announced earlier in March).
Sept. 2005: In partnership with Microsoft, Digital Promise carries out a "United Way Day of Caring" by sending teams to conduct technical assistance at four computer learning centers in the Seattle area
August 2005: Digital Promise announces a new VISTA Volunteer, Catherine Sullivan, who will be working with disadvantaged populations at computer learning centers in the Seattle area
July 2005: Digital Promise becomes the fiscal (financial) sponsor of a new national consortium of centers called the National Neighborhood Networks Consortium
June 2005: HUD recognizes Digital Promise with a national award at their Neighborhood Networks Conference in Florida
May 2005: Digital Promise secures a $10,000 grant for new equipment, software and development of a peer-to-peer training program at one of its managed centers
April 2005: Digital Promise inducts two new Board Members: Dawn Wood from Microsoft Corp. and Sandra Mears from PSACT. Tom Moran (Microsoft) and Mark Flynn (Impact Capital) are elevated to Advisory Board members, where they will set the strategic direction for Digital Promise.
March 2005: Seattle Housing Authority and Digital Promise announce a new, $300,000 grant at one of its managed centers, under a program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development
Feb. 2005: Digital Promise, a successful bidder under a Request for Proposal Process, begins management of two Seattle Housing Authority computer centers
