A blind client has created two web pages for selling hand crafts on the internet.

A blind client who is in a computer user group has learned to do a variety of new PC functions, including downloading programs; setting up programs; using yahoo mail (with JAWS); and sending E-cards to friends and family.

Another blind client has learned to burn CD's to assist him in his training to become a professional disk jockey.

A client who has cerebral palsy has increase the speed of writing his life story from one sentence per hour to one page per hour, using a word prediction program.

A client who has some brain damage and paralysis in her right arm and hand
has learned the voice recognition program which allows her to re-enter the work place.

Dear Jacque,

I am so grateful to you for making me computer literate. I am a blind individual and operating a computer was just something which I could only imagine. I could never imagine that one day I will be able to operate a computer. For this achievement, I am extremely thankful to Star of Seattle and , in particular, its instructor, Jacque.

Today, I can log on to my computer, surf the internet, send and receive E mails, listen to music on-line and do word processing etc. This has given me lots of encouragement to do other things in life which I always wanted to do. For example, right now, I am doing a course at Belevue Community College in Basic Radio Broadcasting. Upon completion, I will be able to do my own Radio show. This is only possible due to my computer knowledge which I received from Star of Seattle.

Once again, I would like to thank Star of Seattle and its instructors who had so much difference to my life and made my life meaningful. I hope more and more people with disabilities will take advantage of the services provided by Star of Seattle. Finally, I hope that this Center will go a long way and make differences in the lives of people like me.
